Aer Soléir is currently in construction of ~360MW of wind in Greece with the first MWhr output in late Q1 2025 and have a significant pipeline scheduled to enter construction thereafter including solar and BESS technologies in other European jurisdictions. We are therefore seeking a talented and committed individual to be responsible for performance of our operational assets.
This role combines technical and commercial competencies to provide management and oversight, optimising reliability and performance whilst driving health and safety standards across all operational assets.
THE ROLE
- reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer and shall be located in Dublin, Ireland.
- will work closely with the Engineering, Construction and Finance / Accounting teams alongside other functions in the business
- shall oversee our external providers of asset management services and act as the operational point of contact for our assets to stakeholders
- The role will involve a commitment to travel and regular periods away from home. Travel in general will be within Europe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role responsibilities shall include:
- Commercial and technical management of operational assets across all 3 of our technologies across Europe
- Ensuring that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with all regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Prioritising and promoting safety throughout our operational sites ensuring that all related activities are undertaken to best international practice standards
- Managing all commercial contracts associated with the assigned assets, including external Asset Management Services, PPA/s, O&M, lease agreements and monitor contractor performance on these contracts to maximise value. In particular, fostering a strong collaborative relationship with an external technical asset management service provider to assist in the day-to-day operations and management of the assigned assets.
- Creating and thereafter constantly review current operational processes, structures and resources within the business and make recommendations to meet challenges posed by changing business environment.
- Appropriately supporting acquisition, development and construction phase projects to ensure due regard for operational aspects and costs are considered in advance.
- Protecting project profitability throughout operating activities, proactively identifying and resolving risks to value and schedule. Driving asset performance by interacting with OEMs and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maximize profitability of assets
- Leading the negotiation of new or extended contracts when required.
- Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, becoming the primary point of contact for key stakeholders relevant to the assigned assets.
- Developing for approval an annual operational (OPEX) budget, catering for all known asset risks and opportunities and thereafter manage the assigned asset’s operational spend within the approved budget. Reporting against technical, commercial and HSE KPIs, to key stakeholders.
- Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS
- Effective communicator with full fluency in English. Fluency in other European languages will be an advantage
- Demonstrated asset management experience and clear comprehension of operations & maintenance activities. 10+ years’ experience in the renewable energy industry, including at least 7 years within Asset Management.
- A degree in Engineering or relevant discipline. advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Experience of contract negotiations and associated risk evaluation and mitigation
- Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technologies and operations, including wind, solar, and energy storage systems.
- Full appreciation and adherence to budgeting, cost control and financial management, with strong project management skills. Strong business and commercial acumen
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement asset management strategies to optimize performance and maximize value.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the renewable energy industry.
