Position Title: Land Manager
Location: Dublin

Aer Soléir is seeking a Land Manager to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a key role in the business based out of Dublin, with responsibility throughout Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, committed individual to become a central contributor to the long-term success of this values based, highly commercial, growth-oriented business, which aims to become a leading renewable player in Europe.

The Land Manager will:

  • lead on the consideration of land requirements for prospective sites for onshore renewable energy projects throughout Europe, supporting initial feasibility assessments through to negotiating and securing land rights for renewable energy developments for construction and operations;
  • be responsible for the delivery of all required legal rights over land associated with securing Exclusivity Agreements, Letters of Authority, Heads of Terms, Options and Leases for selected opportunities and for building effective relationships with landowners, development partners and agents
  • shall oversee our external land agents and / or development partners and act as the operational point of contact;
  • will involve an commitment to travel and regular periods away from home. Travel will be within Europe;
  • reports to the Head of Development.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and support the Development team members throughout Europe;
  • Support to appraise and secure of suitable renewable energy development opportunities that meet the company’s strategy across Europe;
  • Work with our European partners to ensure all land rights are secured for the projects;
  • Meeting with landowners and agents to discuss site availability with a view to securing required land rights;
  • Negotiate and secure Heads of Terms on prospective development sites in consultation with the Head of Development;
  • Negotiate and agree terms for wayleaves/easements/access rights to assist with development projects;
  • Work with the legal support to deliver land option, lease agreements and associated agreements for all new solar, BESS and wind farm opportunities;
  • Maintain land registry;
  • Co-ordinate with project managers and external lawyers and manage delivery of finalised land agreements;
  • Provide regular reporting of progress on land agreements;
  • Development and maintenance of template land contracts and processes;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Preferably RICS qualified;
  • Land Manager experience in the Renewable Energy Sector but other Infrastructure and / or housebuilding projects experience will be considered;
  • Land Acquisition activities;
  • Able and willing to engage with professional land agents, solicitors and landowners throughout Europe;
  • Must have a clean driving licence;
  • Personable and approachable;
  • Effective communicator with full fluency in English. Fluency in other European languages will be an advantage;
  • High energy levels, flexibility and self-motivation will be critical factors for success;
  • The appointee will need to gain instant credibility and must be able to lead, on the ground.
